Danish actress Anna Karina in the film 'Anna' (1967) - clear plastic mac with a white trim. She can be seen wearing the mac between 4'-26" to 6'-27", 10'-42" to 11'-37", 35'-22" to 36'-24", 57'-27" to 1 hour 00'-58" and 1 hour 16'-00" to 1 hour 18'-04". Thereafter we get glimpses of her wearing the mac (flashbacks) from 1 hour 25'-19" through to the end of the film. Enjoy! :) (1) The DVD cover of 'Anna': https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090647/me ... 4178095873 (2) The link to the film: https://ok.ru/video/963201862174

What a brilliant find. Anna looks so easy and comfortable in her Mac. What I find strange is rhat1967 was the high point of the surge in popularity of plastic raincoats, usually of thicker material. I had a clear Mac with white trim on the collar, hems and pockets, in a glass clear plastic but of a thicker material than Anna’s coat. The material in her coat is more like that found in macs bought in seaside shops or Woolies, very thin and vulnerable. Strange that there was no hood, so I can only surmise that it was originally supplied with a plastic head scarf. Perhaps the selection of what appears to be a cheap Mac was to indicate her lack of concern for fashion.

Funny how seeing old films evokes thoughts. I was in my twenties in London in the 1960’s, a great time for plastic rainwear, when it changed from utility to fashion. Others have commented elsewhere that the 40’s and 50’s were the golden times; I contend that the latter half of the 60’s was special, as whereas in earlier decades plastic was worn purely for rain protection, and more so by middle aged and older women, in the 60’s it was worn by the young fashion set.

My thoughts, anyway. I’m interested to hear others thoughts .

That film could have only been made in the 1960's. In the first 5 minutes it's like - everyone has to wear plastic.

Yeah, the first few minutes are a dead giveaway - could only be the 60s!

It's not that difficult when you have my old list of movies.
