The instant that flashes in my mind when they mention bolts and screws and what-not, is the kidnappers choosing a long smock (the ones that are particularly hard to put on) and altering the sleeves to be rainwear-stratjacket. Just a bit of sewing, placing a ring on it, so the raincoat can be stretched out in the room forcing the cargo to stand in an X-shape when the take care of him. Otherwise, chain attached to a collar on his neck (securing the raincoat hood tight) and yeah, attached to the back of the room. Definitely allow him to see things - eyes would not really take permanent darkness well over those months of pacing around in that inescapeable cell
