You never know these might catch on with the 'chav' population in the same way more mainstream Burberry did

This thread brings back a very fond memory.

A few years back, when we lived in San Francisco, my wife and I went to Madame S so she could buy a latex dress for a fetish party. I stood nearby and browsed while the shop assistant helped my wife with the dresses.

The weather that night was terrible; rain pounded against the skylights. thunder rumbled outside, and we both arrived in head-to-toe latex under our rubber Klepper trenchcoats. The shop clerk was impressed - she had dealt with more than her share of ignorant knckleheads that day, and she seemed genuinely happy that a couple of genuine pervs had turned up before closing time.

It certainly didn't hurt that she was gorgeous, a confirmed perv and latex fetishist, and dressed in a pair of black patent leather pants that looked painted onto her body.

They disappeared into the changing room for several minutes at a time, then the clerk opened the door while she finished fitting each dress. It was a nice combination of mystery (what WERE they up to? to this day, my wife just smiles when I ask) and arousing visuals (watching her carefuly finish smoothing the latex around my wife's hips - bent over, facing away from me, and giving me a front-and-center view of her absolutely amazing leather-clad ass.

My wife got her dress, and I got my wife - in the alley outside in a downpour, again in the back seat of the car, and yet again in the hallway by our front door. It was a GOOD evening :-)

I been to Burbery again today first I went to Knightsbridge and tried on their pink plastic raincoat . A size 12 and a very good fit with the assistants help but they were out of stock for the blue and white plastic raincoats which I also wanted to try on so the assistant suggested I went to selfridges which I did and the assistant there was also very helpful explaining how they should be worn and was interested to hear they are also all unisex so there is nothing to stop men wearing the pink raincoat .Out of stock with the white plastic raincoats but had blue only , So I tried two blue ones on in different sizes . Looking at myslf in the mirror I was disappointed because the sleeves are slightly baggy and the back did not sit well on me . So I think the final choice will have to be a pink one for me from Knightsbridge.I also noticed in Selfridges they do a ladies shiny blue trenchcoat the same as my husband bought .

You do seem to like your trips to Burberry and I can't blame you, as this season they have some great Macs and they're always happy to let you try them all on. I've got my eye on the what they call the men's "soft touch plastic hooded cagoule" I like the red tartan on and I've now tried it on twice. They call the material plastic but it feels like a latex/rubber material and does have a wonderful feel but has no smell. I think your pink plastic raincoat is the same material. I'm trying to decide whether to hang on till the sale which will start just after Christmas but I don't want to loose it.
Has your husband his new blue PVC trench out and about yet?

No my husband has not tried his blue pvc trenchcoat out yet but hopes to soon. I see also that Burberry does the same shiny blue trenchcoat for ladies that my husband bought but is not on their website along with a few others ,I saw it by chance yesterday.the assistant that was helping me tried to talk me into trying the red tarten trenchcoat but I am not a lover of the tarten pattern so I declined. You are right it is the same plastic as used as in the raincoats. I cant decide if I should also wait for the sale at Burberry as plastic raincoats according to the assistants have been selling well and once they are gone thats it . For me the best fitting raincoat is the pink one .So I may .go back again I have the assistants name and phone number that served me

The great thing about the pink raincoat is that given the popularity of plastic and vinyl Macs this season you won't have any inhibition in wearing it especially in London where I have seen numerous shiny Macs during the recent weeks. I think you could also wear a couple of layers underneath it, so it should be great even on a chilly day! I suspect that you may have to buy it before the sales as some men might be buying one for their other halves as a xmas present..that should guarantee a happy Christmas!

So the sales assistant informed me the plastic raincoats are unisex including the pink one and men could be seen to wear them according to the lady assistant it was seen as being quite manly only to be encouraged as pink is the new colour for men to wear.Would my husband wear a pink plastic raincoat ?? I am not sure I think he should give it a try . I will take him to get fitted for one and see .

Well, I got an email last week from Farfetch.com letting me know that they had the blue coated cotton trench available in a size 56. Not only that but they were 50% off, so I immediately ordered it as they only had one in stock. It arrived today and it looks amazing. Only problem is I need to shed a few more pounds so I can button the top button and close the throat latch. But notwithstanding that it fits fine in the chest, and in the sleeves, plenty of ease of movement. Well I've been having trouble finding motivation to go to the gym at least 4 times a week - now I've found it!

I also ordered a pair of glossy navy Daily Shoes wellies and a navy pvc rain hat from Amazon to complete the ensemble, both of which also arrived today, so I was like a kid in a candy store when I got home. All three are the same shade of navy with an amazing shine. Special thanks have to go out to Jodie, for her post last year that first made me aware of the coat's existence.

Well, I got to put the new coat to the test this morning as I pulled into the parking garage and saw a flash of lightning followed by a booming crack of thunder. Fortunately I had the coat still in its garment bag in the back of the car, along with the matching rain hat & wellies. I slipped the boots on, put on my raincoat, buttoned it up & belted it as tight as it could go, and topped it off with the rain hat. Then I grabbed my Burberry novacheck umbrella & set off for my three block walk to work. The coat did an excellent job in what turned out to be a torrential downpour, with a touch of hail thrown in for good measure. The length is well below my knees, so there's very little space (maybe 1/2 inch) between the hem of the coat and my wellies. It did an excellent job of keeping the rain out, and surprisingly decent ventilation, so I wasn't sweating like a pig (probably helped that I didn't fasten the wrist straps, so some air was able to flow up through my sleeves). Now that I've gotten to wear it under proper conditions I love it even more than when I first tried it on. And for those of you who worry about what people will say or how they will look at you if you wore such a coat in public, I can say that no one made so much as a peep to me about it, other than one old lady who remarked on how smart I was to be so well prepared. So for those of you who can't bring yourself to wear your shiny raincoats in public, or won't even buy one for fear of being embarrassed, I say let go of your inhibitions and wear your pvc proudly, or as the cool kids say around here, "let your freak flag fly".
