Rainwear Purchase Question

Post by latexstorm »

So I'm looking for a new PVC raincoat from one of the really good raingear makers -- Ocean, Helly-Hansen, companies like that.

I want something made from the heavier, really shiny PVC that I see used with some of these companies' commercial/offshore raingear. And it definitely needs to be practical -- storm flap, elastic or cuff snaps, heavyweight material, etc. And did I mention shiny?

Any advice on which brand, and perhaps a particular item, might fit the bill? Ditto on a good site to purchase -- preferably in the U.S., although I know that a lot of these companies sell more in the EU and I might just have to eat the overseas shipping.

Thanks!

Hi there!

One of the best heavy PVC rainsuits I have ever bought was a South African suit made by Maxden. The outside is a very shiny finish, while the inside is also very smooth and very fetish friendly! They are impossible to find on the internet, but fortunately for us, Paul, the site admin, sells them exclusively on his website at http://www.maxden.co.za/ You can see Adelle (Pauls' wife) wearing one of the suits in the forum banner, I'm sure this suit will be exactly what you'r looking for and is definately worth every penny. Viking also make a great really heavy rainwear called Bristol Bay, I would love to get my hands on one of these suits but sadly the only seller I can find is on the US Ebay and they won't ship to the UK :( http://cgi.ebay.com/Viking-Bristol-Bay- ... 975709e85c and http://cgi.ebay.com/Viking-Bristol-Bay- ... 975709e868

Hello there; PVC U Like has all kinds of rainwear and does offer a 250 micron solid black vinyl that might suit your needs. It is a heavier pvc. They made me a raincoat in the lighter see through material set to my specs and are very
fetish friendly, respond quickly to inquiries and what I thought was fair pricing. Good luck on your search.

I have a heavy PVC suit made by Grundens (Brigg parka and Hercules bibs) that has a thick coating of soft and supple PVC on cotton twill that are available in either orange or dark green, mine are orange. The surface is not shiny but very smooth and satisfying with almost a rubber like feel. These should be easily available in the EU.
