First pair of wellies?

Post by HarlequinKing96 »

My first pair I remember were a pair of Thomas the Tank Engine wellies. Shocker if you knew me as a girl.

First Hunters meanwhile were in red when I was 10!

There's a photo of me around somewhere featuring shiny red wellies in the snow, taken when I was a toddler. I remember when I was about 7 or 8 years old being very excited to own a pair of black Dunlop wellies.

Today I have about 30 pairs!

So envious Andy now all the shiny ones are too small for my size 10 feet

I never had any wellingtons when a child but borrowed some for a week from lady next door when our class worked on a farm for a week. They were a lovely pair of soft brown rubber and I remember sitting on the bus rubbing them up and down. So the first pair I had was when in the Royal Air Force and issued with a lovely rubber cape and a pair of wellingtons for use on the airfield. They got used more for personal pleasure than original purpose.

I can remember wanting a pair of yellow and blue ladies dunlop wellies with the yellow cuff and yellow draw string cord around the top, sadly my mum bought me a pair of black dunlop instead, much to my annoyance

My 1st pair were black ones from Woolworths but the most memorable (?) Ones were a pair of bright blue ones that were bought for me when I was 14 from the girls racks. And I had to wear them home "as it was raining" despite my protests
