Yes they did. There was a lightweight cotton, and also a heavyweight cotton. I do own a lightweight one.

Latex has a shelf life. Keep it clean, cool, out of sunlight. Do not sweat to much, or wear it to often. It will last 30 years. I still have my Sealwear latex mac I purchased in 1997. But it is coming to the end of its life. Once it starts to degrade there is nothing you can do to stop it happening....

Fear of wearing your mac is something you will have to overcome. Suggest wearing your mac in the appropriate weather. Also wear it in a different town. Being recognised is the hardest fear to overcome. It is a process. I wish you well with it.
