Re: Call the Midwife
As Call the Midwife is set in the then working class neighborhood of Poplar in London’s East End, it is likely that there were not many residents who were shopping for and wearing the most current trends in fashion. Gaberdine raincoats were “tried and true” and a commonly worn item of outerwear. And...

Re: E.R( US Medical drama) shiny yellow rain mac
I loved Maura Tierney playing the role of Abby in ER. The yellow slicker that she is wearing is perfect for her and her character.

Taylor Swift “Rain Show” Concert May 20
There was a terrific Taylor Swift concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts at Gillette Stadium last Saturday evening, May 20. It was part of her Eras Series of concerts which will be mounted nationally throughout the summer. Swift performed for 3 1/2 hours in a deluge of rain. She was surrounded by thou...

Re: Rainwear Dislikes
I like rainwear to come down at least long enough to begin to cover your derrière. My optimum preferred length is mid-calf. Anything that reaches only to hip-length definitely lacks appeal.

Re: School Shorts
I have always wondered about what women feel on a rainy day when they are wearing a skirt or dress hopefully under a long enough raincoat. For example, do they still feel and are exposed to the possibility a heavy rainfall splashing upward off a sidewalk? Obviously, I enjoy both the thought and expe...

Re: 'Mad Men' (S05-E07 'Lady Lazarus' - US TV series from 2012). Jessica Paré in a shiny dark olive green vinyl mac.
Mad Men distinguishes itself in the genre of series television by its fidelity to every aspect of life in the 1960’s for those employed in the field of advertising. Nothing escaped the attention of the production staff, cast and crew. That we have the pleasure of seeing so many of the cast of this e...

Re: School Shorts
I would have liked wearing shorts to school only if I had the chance to cover them with a nylon or rubberized nylon long Mac. The swish of the mac against bare legs would have been exhilarating. Wearing a fabric - cotton or cotton/polyester long raincoat would have had the same effect on me as well ...

Re: Mens raincoats
I think that we could do a section on fabric raincoats particularly with Calibrecloth, Satin Linings, and myself having written about this in several places on Rainwear Central. However I do think that we would have to be dedicated in publishing content. You can count me in.

Re: Sports Commentator Laura Woods wearing a long black storm coat in a downpour.
Laura did say: “Despite the rain, what a day! Loved it!”
I’m an optimist: maybe she did enjoy wearing her raincoat in the downpour.
