Re: When did it all begin?

Dear rainwear-experience Of course I would not follow an arbitrary woman and I agree that anyone who does deserves to be pepper sprayed.. I have built my life on respect for women and I would always be alert to anyone threatening their safety. But if you read the 1895 newspaper article, it was clear...

When did it all begin?

Researching for my possible future book which has a section on rainwear, I have been pushing back in time to see if I can establish when it became not just a robust outdoor garment for men, but also a fashion item for women. From there to fetishism or simply a non-fetish interest, becomes an easy st...

Re: Favourite ever piece of rainwear

The yellow rubber lined taffeta possibly Dannimac, worn by Glynis Johns sitting in a wheelchair (she played a mermaid Miranda) in the movie Mad about Men. I understand that the cast and crew can often retain the props from a movie and I wonder who got that.

Re: Raincoat bondage idea

Good thinking Ilovecagoules! I have a scene in a fetish/BDSM book I wrote where the two main characters do that with a couple of Kleppers. The only difference with Ilovecagoules's notion is that I did not configure the two participants back to back. The book came about because I was sending scenes t...

Re: Stutterheim

Thank you to everyone for the input and comments here. The comments, photos and label posted by rubgum and tiefdruckgebiet confirm my original suspicions that the "rubber" is actually a petroleum derivative like PVC. Some of the items are attractive to look at and they would turn my head i...

Re: What is something you didn’t think you would like until you tried it? What is something you always wanted to try?

I suppose it was sex with Daphne. Age 11, I quite liked Daphne because she not only had tits like melons, no, let me correct that, tits like pumpkins, but she also frequently wore her older sister’s dark blue rubberised taffeta Dannimac. It was cavernous and she would unbutton it and invite me in to...

Stutterheim

Does anyone have any direct experience of the current Stutterheim range of what they call “rubberised cotton”? As we well know, these days, the term “rubber” has been extended to include whatever synthetic polymer/elastomer is available in bulk from China. However, Stutterheim assert they make their...

Re: NOT REALLY, RUBBERISED COATS

It is a safe assumption that any raincoat marketed by current manufacturers, whether Hunter, Scandi or Chinese etc, described as rubber, ought to provoke the remark: "This is rubber Jim, but not as we know it." Although it is stretching the term, it is just about scientifically and technic...
