The strange thing with oilskins...... They always retain their distinctive smell, even though some of mine date from the 1950's.
I know their age, as they have the War Department mark inside, an arrow and a year date.

I've always been an oilskin guy since my teens when they were popular as biker gear. Also Black Prince suits were incredible, I owned two of them, they were very special suits.
Add to this gear waders, wellies, gasmasks and gloves and you have a fetish heaven.
