Re: A little upset.

How're you feeling, debs? Hope everything has been good since your health scare.

Hope I didn't come off as being too harsh on this thread! You saw a doctor and got the problem checked out - that's what matters.

Re: Lakeland Elements

Have you tried the Wayback Machine? Given how long the site was online, I would be surprised if you couldn't find quite a bit of the content archived there.

Re: Anyone tried DailyShoes wellies?

I bought a couple of pairs of these. Build quality is generally poor; the sole separated from the uppers on one pair within a week, and severe cracking developed on the other pair a few weeks later. Not surprisingly, it turned out to be a spectacularly bad idea to take either pair anywhere near any ...

Re: Le Chameau wellies

I had a pair of Le Chameau rubber riding boots that lasted for 10+ years - like Aigle, their footwear is as good as it gets. And it only seems expensive until you think about how many pairs of cheap boots you'd wear out during that time.

Re: Rainwear Videos

Doing something that doesn't involve walking into a lake, or filling your boots with water, or wading up to your neck in mud would be a nice change of pace. It's surprisingly hard to find content that isn't yet another mud-caked wet-n-messy showcase.

Re: Burberry Blue PVC Trenchcoat

This thread brings back a very fond memory. A few years back, when we lived in San Francisco, my wife and I went to Madame S so she could buy a latex dress for a fetish party. I stood nearby and browsed while the shop assistant helped my wife with the dresses. The weather that night was terrible; ra...

For anyone still curious about this - I notice they aren't using SSL to encrypt their website/content. (Sites that use SSL will use addresses that begin with "https://" rather than "http://") That wasn't unusual a few years ago, but nowadays the vast majority of business websites use SSL. It makes a...

I'm impressed. You're setting up an interesting story that feels almost plausible(!) and stays away from cliches. Nice job!

Re: rainwearmaids

Serious question: What's the origin of this type of imagery? It's not my thing, but I find it interesting that it popped up suddenly a year or two ago, and it hits a very specific set of visual cues. It feels Eastern European (and so do the names I see) somehow - is it the clothing?

Re: Klepper Military-Police overcoat

One of my all-time favorite raincoats. It's much heavier than a typical Klepper and is a little more elaborate with the adjustable cuffs, throat tab, adjustable vent, etc. Mine needs some work right now; I like to have this coat handy when there's a threat of hail, and it got a workout with the seri...
