A rare sight nowadays unfortunately, there once was a time when pvc mackintoshes like this were worn as general Outerwear whether it was raining or not, oh well that’s “progress” for you.

I always associate this with plimsolls and not rainwear, maybe because the sole of a plimsolls was used instead of a cane at my school.

Wish I was closer. I am in the very same predicament as you.
I love walks in pvc and rubber, lycra cycle shorts and leggings when it’s warmer too.
Glad I am not the only one that likes to dress nice and shiny for walks

I often go out of my way to say the word Mackintosh in full rather than Mac and I am the same with wellingtons and wellies, there is something sexy sounding about both of those words in full to me.
